VISION
To create a network of successful local business owners who are proud to deliver outstanding service, grow strong customer relationships, and bring vibrant outdoor spaces to life.
My journey began when I was just six years old. My grandfather, Roy Click, who worked for Trammell Crow and Jim Box, was a hardworking man who grew up in Oklahoma during the Great Depression. He instilled in us the value of money and hard work. My childhood friends and I were a rambunctious bunch, often finding ourselves with hammers, tools, and even explosives in hand. After breaking and blowing up our toys, my grandfather took us to Walmart with $5 each to spend. But when one of my friends casually mentioned his dad had given him $20, my grandfather was furious. He told us we needed to get jobs to understand the value of a dollar.
That's when my entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. Taylor, a friend, and I started raking leaves for money, earning a few dollars each to buy more G.I. Joe toys. By the time I was a teenager, I was mowing lawns, eventually hiring my first employee. At 17, I was earning more than my parents.
Even though I had two scholarships, college wasn't for me, and after a few weeks, I dropped out, realizing that hard work was the key to achieving anything I wanted in life. By age 23, I found myself living on my grandmother's couch, with my aunt urging me to find a job or move out. I decided to start a business instead.
With just $20 borrowed from my grandmother, I bought some supplies from Home Depot and started painting street numbers on curbs. In my first hour and a half, I made $147. That experience solidified my resolve never to work a traditional job again.
After six months of painting curbs, I decided to expand my horizons. I reached out to my old friend, Gamble, who built me a website. Within three years, my business was making $100,000 a month. Not bad for a college dropout. We eventually sold that company, and in 2012, we launched DallasSodGrass.com.
Since then, we've been continually innovating, creating new avenues, and finding better ways to serve our customers. We look forward to you being part of our story as we continue to grow and help others along the way.
My story began when I was 17 years old.
Right after graduating from high school, I packed up and moved to Los Angeles, California, to chase my dream of becoming a professional dancer. That bold move marked the beginning of an incredible journey.
I had the incredible opportunity to dance with icons like Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Jennifer Lopez. Those experiences pushed me creatively and professionally and taught me what it means to perform at the highest level.
Alongside commercial dance, I trained in ballet — something that grounded me. Ballet taught me patience, discipline, and persistence — lessons that stayed with me far beyond the studio.
After an injury, I hung up my dancing shoes and moved back to the great state of Texas. I had no clear plan, just a desire to keep moving forward. Not knowing what was next, I enrolled in cosmetology school.
A few years later, I opened my own salon — and that’s where everything changed again. I quickly earned a reputation as the go-to hairstylist for blondes in Dallas, working with clients from Britney Spears to Laura Bush. I became known as "The Best Blondes in Dallas."
That chapter wasn’t just about style — it was where I stepped into the role of a businessman, managing a team of 16 other hairstylists and running a thriving salon. It taught me leadership, hustle, and the power of creating a brand.
But even the best chapters eventually turn their last page...
One night, I met a guy named James. He was rambunctious, a little obnoxious — but instantly likable. We hit it off right away. Little did I know, that moment would be the beginning of an unexpected partnership.
Fast forward 15 years, and James and I have built something incredible together. We turned a little company into a major competitor in the landscape industry, and now we’re taking the leap to franchise our brand — expanding our vision and bringing it to life in a way I never could have imagined back when I was just a 17-year-old dancer chasing a dream in L.A.
